What is Relate?
Relate is a national voluntary organisation with a charitable status. They work as counsellors and therapists with both couples and individuals, married, unmarried, gay and lesbian. We explore emotional and sexual difficulties arising at any time in the life of or the ending of relationships. Although we see people on their own, our distinctive focus is on the adult couple relationship.
The first step is an initial consultation that lasts for 45 minutes to an hour.
After the initial consultation clients interested in on-going counselling will be placed on a waiting list and allocated a suitable appointment when one becomes available. The sessions last for an hour and are normally once a week for a period of usually six weeks.
Who uses Relate?
Married couples, unmarried couple and single people with relationship problems. Individuals when a relationship is ending. Same sex couples.
Counselling hours
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 10.00am – 8.00pm
Thursday: 10.00am – 2.00pm

- What are the costs? The figures are less than half the normal charges for professional counselling. Initial Consultation costs £55 On-going counselling costs £50 per session Sex Therapy £60 per session A deposit or prepayment is required at the time of booking an appointment. No person is refused help due to financial hardship. Reduced fees can be considered. Please ask for a financial hardship form when contacting the office.
