Bel Royal Primary School
"The Core Purpose of Bel Royal School is to provide engaging opportunities so that all children develop their own learning skills within an inclusive community"
At our school we provide a rich and varied, active learning environment that allows children to develop their skills and abilities as fully as possible. Through our teaching in the classroom, within our excellent outside facilities and within the school locality, we have a commitment from all staff and teachers that children will be given the opportunities to frequently work as a team, actively solve problems, present their learning, reflect on what they are learning and doing, apply agreed criteria to their work and take responsibility for, and ownership of their learning and the classroom community.
Bel Royal is primarily a one form entry Primary School, but with a double form entry in Reception 2016/17 which will move through the school. The school was opened in 1975 and is a single storey structure. In January 2002 a Nursery extension was opened and in November 2016 a new wing was officially opened, doubling the footprint of the school. The extensive facilities including Wi-Fi throughout the whole school, libraries, a school field bounded by further grassed areas, outdoor play areas and a nature trail all of which allows for flexibility in teaching and learning approaches developed. The emphasis is on inclusion whereby all children have access to quality learning experiences.
From Bel Royal Garage, the school is located at the entrance of St. Peter's Valley on the right hand side of the road.
The school is a single storey building with ramp access provided for wheelchair access. In front of the school there is a restricted parking zone for the use of families with children with mobility difficulties.
