Milli's Separated Family Centre

Milli's Separated Family Centre is a community organisation that works with everyone affected by family separation in order to bring about better outcomes for children. 

Our services are available to parents who are caring for their children alone, those who are sharing care and those who are not able to spend time with their children. Parents, carers, grandparents or anyone else with concerns about family separation are welcome.

Our child focused work is designed to help parents:

Understand and deal with their own and their children's experiences of the separation.

Make private arrangements for how their children will spend time with both of them.

Work out how to provide financially for their children and Improve communications so that they can manage the transitions that come with separation in the years to come.

WHAT IS A CHILD CONTACT CENTRE?

A child contact centre is a meeting place where children of separated families can enjoy contact with the non-resident parent and sometimes other family members, in a comfortable and safe environment when there is no viable alternative.

What we provide

• A Safe caring environment where parenting time will be child centred.
• A warm and comfortable atmosphere for both parents and children.
• A place where a parent that the child lives with can have confidence in.
• A place where there will be no arguments or family rows.
• Time for a child to relax and enjoy spending time with their parent.

When parents’ divorce or separate it is often difficult for the child(ren) to keep in touch with both parents or other family members. It is especially difficult for them to spend time with the parent with whom they no longer live.
