Jersey Child and Family Clinic
Dr Mona Freeman opened the Jersey Child and Family Clinic in 2019 as a way of providing a bespoke, high quality evidence based private service to young people (aged up to 25yrs) experiencing mental health difficulties and their families.
Dr Freeman has been a qualified medical doctor for over 20 years. She completed her training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the world renowned Tavistock Clinic in London where she remained as a Consultant for several years until moving to Jersey in 2016. She is one of a select group to have been awarded the Laughlin Prize by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
She is expert in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health difficulties in young people. She can provide a range of evidence based talking therapies, including family therapy, CBT and EMDR. As a medical doctor, she can also provide medication if required. Treatment choices are always made jointly with the young person and family, based on clinical need and patient choice.
Additionally, Dr Freeman offers comprehensive diagnostic assessments for ADHD and ASD.
Dr Freeman is a strong advocate of tackling difficulties early, before they become severe and entrenched. As such, she welcomes referrals regarding young people and families experiencing stressful life events, such as divorce, bereavement or other loss, even if they do not reach the threshold required for a specific diagnosis.
Dr Freeman unfortunately does not provide an emergency service.
A referral is required before we can arrange an initial consultation. This can be either from your GP, paediatrician, psychiatrist or other medical doctor.
Dr Freeman is registered with several health insurance companies should you wish to use private medical insurance.
