How do I contact the hospital chaplains?

The Chaplaincy Office is situated at the General hospital.
Patients in hospital or their relatives may ask ward staff or the switchboard to contact the duty chaplain or the Roman Catholic chaplain, whichever is appropriate.

We operate an on-call service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Feel free to phone us, non-urgent messages may be left on the answer phone.

What do hospital chaplains offer?

As an ecumenical and multi-faith resource, we offer:

  • spiritual and religious support to patients and visitors of all faiths or none
  • opportunity for religious expression, including special services, ward communions and prayer
  • a non-judgemental manner
  • time to listen to you
  • confidentiality
  • a point of contact with the appropriate faith community
