St. John Ambulance - Jersey

About Us

Our vision for St John is that “Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. No one should suffer from the lack of trained first aiders”.

On the 22nd February 2016 Mr David Le Quesne became our Knight Commander following the retirement of Mrs Cynthia Rumboll as our Dame Commander. Our Commander continues to be Lt.Col. John Pinel.

In 2017 St John Ambulance Jersey trained a total of 7308 people on various first aid training courses, which represents 7.25% of the population (of 100,800). As our certificates are normally valid for three years before requalification is necessary, at any one time some 20% of the population are in date with their first aid training and could assist to prevent accidents or to give help at the time of an incident.

Our 227 volunteer adult and youth members provided over 23,300 hours of voluntary service in 2017. For example we attended 167 public events and treated 336 patients, of which only 27 were taken to hospital.

We now sell first aid kits at all our Commercial and Community first aid courses, as well as from Headquarters in Midvale Road.

As a Dependant Commandery, all our funds remain in Jersey for our work within the community of Jersey.
